Hi guys Im new here, and really wanted to get into costume building. I had been looking at Stealth's tutorials on youtube for awhile and finally got the gumption to try a build. MY son had really wanted to be ironman for halloween but when we looked at the costumes for sale they sucked...bad. So i decided to try my hand at it, i could not pep it unfortunately because i dont as of yet have a printer, I eyeballed it instead. I think it turned out pretty decent for a first try with no previous exp in any building of any sort, but you guys can be the final say in that, and Id appreciate any feedback on it..thx in advance =)

Sry forgot to say what its made of.Craft foam from a craft store ALOT of it. Used bondo to harden the helm and the led eyes and arc reactor from stealths tutorials, the gloves i got the idea from indy mogul. elbow and knee joints are bonding screws aka chicago screws. velcro and nylon strapping and buckles for assembly.Total cost for the build $250 usd. I had to buy everything i need tools and such too.Build took me 30 days exactly to do, started oct 1 finished oct 30th.I was inspired by stealths costumes he does some great work i think.

The thing Im most proud of on the suit is the helm, it took 4 tries to get it right all eyeballing pictures and trying to transfer it to foam. My son was extremely happy with it and everyone who saw it halloween night wanted to buy it when we were done with it lol.

i posted here for some feedback on how my sons costume came out , guess it didnt come out too good =(

I just have to say that I love the very idea of you going all out for your son on Halloween! I'll bet he was the coolest kid on the block :)

As far as the costume itself, it looks great, especially considering that you did it all without a pattern to go by! The lights look great, and the painting and battle damage details really give some definition to the individual armor sections.

Overall, really impressive for a first time build, without a pattern, and with a 30 day time limit! I'll bet you'd knock a pep build out of the park.

Came out really well, you did a fantastic job with the weathering as well. The suit looks like your son put it through a few test trials...:love

Great job dad, when my boys get a little older I hope I can do something like this for them.

If you could eye ball it this well you would probably do really well with pep files. You should give it a go if you have the time and inclination.

i got to say it is awsome, i bet he felt like tony stark the whole day. my dad and mom use to make stuff me my brother and i. i think its awesome you did that for your son!:thumbsup
