Iron-Man MKVII FOAM WIP [REPAIR PROGRESS]

Great build and great looking suit. Looks like a lot of fun at the parties. Love the full set of armours as well.

Helmet rebuild looks really good too. Have you any tips for working on the helmet? I'm trying to put together mine at the moment and having some issues with the bottom of the faceplate reaching and lining up with the chin.

can you post a picture of your build? so that I can help you :) Thanks for the compliments by the way! Yes the party was great. Even the adults had fun :lol

Thanks very much. I've got a couple of shots of it in the last post here: http://www.therpf.com/f78/iron-man-mk-4-build-226646/

I hope that with more practice I might be able to reach something looking as good as yours but it's still early days. Always love seeing great looking completed suits.

Hey Ironmaided,

For your foam Mark VII, you said you used JFcustom's unfold of JTM's files, but I can't find that in JFcustom's thread. He does have Darkside501st's V1 files, and this:

"Iron Man mark7 by Karol Siemieniago - minor edit and foam unfold JFcustom.rar
Incredibly both movie-looking and simple to build."

Is either one of those the one you used? If not, is it this?

These are not unfolded by JFcustom, they are unfolded by Gaiatron.

The mark VII is my favorite suit, and I'm building it using JFcustom unfold of Darkside501st's files. I am wondering if they are not as accurate because they were released before the Avengers came out, and JTM/Gaiatron's were after. I have the cod, thighs, shins, and one boot done.

I found the JFcustom unfold JTM files! I will probably use them for the rest of my suit. I would like to redo the whole thing but I want it done in time for Halloween. (In 10 days).

Did you use JFcustom's unfold for the whole suit including helmet, neck, boots, and hands? What scale did you use for the JTM files? The default for the abs is 840, and the default for the chest/back and arm is 793, and the default for the legs is 753. Do they match up at those scales, or if you input one universal scale for all them? I just built the abs at 746.05 scale, and I don't know if I should do the same for chest/back, or do 746.5 / 840 = 0.88869047619048. 793 * 0.88869047619048 = 704.73154761905064.

i only used a single scale range for all of the JTM mark 7 file, my scale however won't fit to almost anyone since i have a lean body, also, i'm using sharkmark(correct me if im wrong) mark 6 helmet unfolded also by jfcustom, since the mark 7 helmet and the mark 6 helmet is closely resembles each other. the hands are from zabana's and the boots from darkside501st mark 7,

So you input a single scale (example: 750) to all the parts, and the chest/back and abs/cod match?

yup thats it, those parts should fit perfectly all together. just be sure get the right scale specially for the ab/cod piece, it will look funky with the suit if it doesn't match

Thank you so much! Before I read this I assumed that that was the case, so I put in the same scale as the abs/cod piece, and printed it out.

I have a few more questions.

1. How do you get into the abs/cod piece? I assume it it one piece, so do you just slip it on, or is there a velcro seam in the side or back?

2. How are the hand plates attached?

3. Are the boots a cover for a shoe, with the sole exposed?
