Iron Man MK VI built in "JARVIS"

Great build! You took the thoughts right out of my head!! I was going to use the myvu crystal glasses for my video viewer. They are smaller and have inputs for iPhones or I pods. So you can use that spare iPod touch with a camera with out having to wire one up. And the your multi functions of the iPod can be used for sound and some voice commands. Way to go man love seeing this kinda thing being made! Can't wait for the rest!

Quick update, used my 3D printer to print out Zabana's hand plate. I know some people don't like 3D printer. But you cant stop technology. I modified the files for the printer a few times to get it perfect.

And thanks again to Zabana for 3D file.

Here it is after sanding it with 320 and without primer.

Those hands looks great (the rest of the stuff too. I'm a bit jealous ;) ) and I think it's okay to use 3D printers for those kinds of things 'cause building these with the usual methods can be very depressing. For me 3D printers are a tool like any other. Very helpful when you know how to use it but still not made for all kinds of work :)

Very cool stuff. Can you go into detail a little more about your camera / glasses set up? Would you do anything different next time?

Looking good Andy keep up the good work! I'm waiting for some replacement servos for my helm, but the basics with the vid and cam work. ZERO depth perception tho LOL, but I kinda figured I wouldn't have any lol

Thanks, it still need some work.

Yeah i got the same problem, but that's no big deal. I will walk around with a open faceplate. And close it for photos and so.

Awesome work man. Its going to turn out great!!!

Hi there, this is my first post and my first costume!

Last year I was looking for a nice Iron Man costume, but I did not like all the cheap looking costumes you can buy! So I searched for better costumes and some how I stumbled over this forum and how to build a costume with pepakura. I read a lot and watched a lot on YouTube from Stealth and JamesBruton (xrobots). So right now I'm building a Mark VI complete pepakura.

Got a few armor parts done, on the helmet I went overboard with the electronics, but I think its bad ass!

Here you can see my progress on the helmet!

Gonna upload some pictures later.

More electronics are planed for the chest piece, hands, the arc and jets on the back!

Happy building all

Hey Andy. Found your build via YouTube. Great work so far! I'm working on a Mark VII right now using Darkside501st's pep models, and have been building out the same kind of functionality you have in your vids. I'm really impressed with your integration of the electronics. I've been thinking about pulling a Vuzix into my build as well, but I'm not sure my helmet can hold the extra gear (and it might need more batteries!)

Do you have a good resource for hacking the Vuzix? I've been wanting to play with it, but never took the plunge to pick one up because there are several models out there and I'm not sure which would be the most maker-friendly. Any tips you can toss out would be awesome.

I've also been wondering about your power supplies. Are you running off of one common source, or do you have separate power to each section? Obviously your helmet is separate but are your hands, back, chest, etc all running off of one common voltage source?

Thanks!

There are so many Vuzix and I don't know which one is the best to hack. My 920 wrap came apart pretty easy.

I use three 9.7 volt batteries, one for the helmet, one for chest and hands and one for the back.

Awesome, thanks for getting back to me. I was looking at the 920 wrap because it's pretty popular with RC plane fliers to do first-person piloting. Glad to see you were able to integrate it. I guess I'll have to add it to my list of things to pick up. :)
