Iron Man MK-1 Cave Suit

I have always wanted to build one of these suits, but never knew where or how to get started. Thanks to JFcustom's FOAM files and easy to understand build tips, I think I have reasonably convinced myself that I could actually make my own suit.

After researching numerous sites and blogs about what material would be best, I finally decided to use 5 mm craft foam both for its ease of use and availability where I live.

So here goes . . .

First part, the helmet;

Again, this is my first build and I have no idea what I am doing so ANY helpful advice would be EXTREMELY appreciated!!!

Having a problem getting the piece "rounded" to the center where the arc reactor goes. Contemplating adding some mountain folds down the center and at angle toward the shoulder to try and get the right curve. Updates to come . . .

I added the housing for the arc reactor and armor for the abs. I also made additional "mountain" folds on the back side to give the chest armor a more rounded and cone shape (to be more accurate tot he movie).

Future plans include adding a hose / line coming from the top mounted tank and run along the outside of the forearm.

Off to a good start,Naz ! :thumbsup The first page of Jf's thread pretty much sums it all up,then towards finishing with rubber/plastic coatings and painting I would recommend XRobots' website.
Give it your best and don't forget to enjoy the creative process ! :popcorn
