Iron Man Mark 9

Hello all. I've been on here before and done various minor things. Built a cool Iron Man mark 6 suit but I want to be bigger and cooler. The Mark 7 seems to be the pinnacle of awesome but everyone does that. On top of that I never liked the legs for the Mark 7, too thin and form fitting when I like my suits bulky and menacing. So I perused SOUTHPAW's Iron Legion thread and with all that in mind found the suit I wanted. The Mark 9, the suit that Pepper ripped open with her bare hands.
The foam for my Mark 6 suit didn't hold up well under stress and after 2 wears has nearly fallen apart. So I've decided I want what I call a master grade build. Using foam once again, I will use xrobots method this time to make the pieces for the suit and hopefully they will hold up better.

All credit for the picture and the list of parts goes graciously to SOUTHPAW. Without his Iron Legion thread I wouldn't have been able to start this up. The files I am using come from MrTropical and Darkside501st, both are amazing guys years ahead of their time. So with all that in mind I am starting tonight. Just sized the abs, cut the stencils and traced to foam. This build will take a few weeks so if you like it check in from time to time to see how I am doing.
I should mention this will be slow. I have another build in the process and am also working out a lot to work on getting a body worthy of Iron Man himself so that I can fit in this suit. But hang with me and I will post from time to time

Sweet can't wait to see how this goes. My Mark VII has served me well the 3 or 4 times I could wear it, but it's breaking down as well. I'm working on a modified rebuild of the Mark 42 (Marvel Comics universe 616 Black and Gold version) out of card board... that is once I finish building my wife's Warmachine

Sounds cool zorprime! I have all the ab pieces traced and started cutting tonight and have the back ready to trace too. Chest is ready to trace too. Hopefully this weekend I will have pictures to share

I like that - looks like a man sized MKVII. I shall try and find the Iron Legion thread, as I've not printed my MKVII legs yet.

MrTropical has the pep files for the legs and they are top notch. Or are you 3d printing?

Hey all,
Been away for a long damn time! My computer broke and I had some work on getting it and a battle station of my dreams online at my house. I'm working on getting a desktop up and running but my laptop is working again and now I am back on target.
Some updates since I was last here. I have bulked way up. I've gained 4 inches on each arm. 5 inches increase on my chest. And lost 4 inches on my gut. I'm working on getting ripped for not only my iron man but a thor build in the future. In the meantime. I am starting the build again tomorrow night. First on the list. The back. And also the chest is done. Pics will be up tomorrow.
