Hello RPF and welcome to my very first thread/post! In this thread I will update you all in my haphazard Iron Man MK-3 foam build. Yep, foam. Foamy, foam, foam... I know a number of members love the stuff, even swear by it, but I just can't. It's a massive nopetrain to Neveragainland for me. I have a list of reasons why:
1. I'm clumsy
2. Hot glue.
3. I'm clumsy
4. X-Acto Knives
5. Heat gun
6. I'm clumsy
7. I'm extremely clumsy
8. Can't get to my preferred level of detail
You might think those reasons seem kinda silly, but I cannot stress enough how clumsy I am. Terrible self-demeaning jokes aside, I really love all the possibility foam has to offer, but I'm a starving artist and a neurotic perfectionist; I love spot on detail more than my liver. If my home wasn't an apartment and I didn't own an overly attached cat, and if I was more experienced, I would forego the foam and use the pepakura and resin method for the build. Much detail, so kemical, such intricate, many hourz. But once again this is my first time, so sempai be gentle.
I stalked the foams for quite a while learning all I could before an attempt. I read all of the tutorials and suggestions, unfortunately I'm on the broker side of the artist spectrum. I can't afford the card-stock or the necessary amount of ink required, inkjet be damned! All I have is good old band paper, and apparently that's a no-no. I ditched the idea of pepakura and just got down to sketching the parts.
Below is an example of my artistic ability (uncolored because I can't colour in the lines).

Of course this doesn't mean I didn't take a few helpful ideas from Dancing Fools pep files.
Kay, enough blabbin' and time to unveil my first attempt at the suit!
