Iron man helmet pepakura help

Hello, how are you guys?

I just finished my iron man helmet and I have a problem, the opening for the head is very small. I have a small head, but I do not enter hahaha. The measures I think are correct, the helmet is large enough, and I think everything is fine, if not is meant to open the neck or if I did something wrong.

The size is: H265 mm - W185 mm - D310 mm

Can you help me?

Thanks

I believe that the sizes are correct, if rescaling would be very big. But I have seen that there are helmets the same size as mine and the guys puts without cutting the back. :wacko

it's correct that the opening at the bottom is not big enough for your head, however the helmet is made as 4 loose parts being:

Jaw, Mask, Backhead (looks like a headphone) and the helm itself.

I myself am thinking about making either the jaw or backhead loose from the rest so I can put the complete helmet on. I haven't thought much about the mechanics but I'll either click the jaw on while the helmet is on or have the backhead attached to the Neck (which is another part of the whole outfit) so I can put the helmet on top of the neck..

Maybe someone else who have made a helmet can share their thoughts

Thanks for your comments!

Think it could to finish the details and go to the hardening phase. Already a hard time cutting and sanding could to give it the right way. Maybe when you have the spare part can attach it with velcro or something.

I saw another poster mention making the jaw a separate piece and using neodymium magnets to hold the jaw to the rest of the mask. The flip back of the head looks like it might work a little better to my eye.

You have to cut the back off after you fiberglass it so you can fit your head in. If it still doesn't fit, increase the scale until it fits. The default scale fits most people. I have a larger than average head and it fits me snug without warping. I'm 6'2".
I've attached a pic of where I cut mine. You can add a lip on the inside of the main section and use magnets or velcro to attach the neck piece. The earcap will cover the seam.

Thank you so much!

You mean cut along the green line, right?

Soon I will start with the next phase.

Hi Alkimistta!

Nice job done Man!

If you haven´t resin it yet maybe will want to consider to do the new sharkhead helmet or mine, are newer ones and more accurate models than the one you´ve build ;)

Good luck with the wip!!!
