I have been crushed, all along I was so proud of my unique idea with this helmet and was excited to possibly be the first to build this mashup. A little while ago I find the post by the "As you wish helmet project" facebook page ans find I'm too late. One of the artists chosen actually did an "IronFett" for the project. Without a doubt they started it well before I did, and probably did a better job too, it's just a bummer and really takes the wind out of my sails Here is their teaser picture

Why would you be crushed?? Now that you know THIS rendition has been done all you have to do is refine the design a little more, Get creative, go more for the mandalorian theme over the Iron Man or just get more of a good 50/50 mix of it. YOU CAN DOOOO IT!!!

I appreciate the support, I had my helmet mostly painted, but now I'm going to sand it back down and try to take my project up a few notches. I've got some brainstorming to do!

I believe Art was trying to get a Predator/Fett helmet done over at The Hunter's Lair for the charity auction but it fell through, That would be a cool project though !

Man this is a very cool cross-over!... Keep it up, it's definately got a different feel to the crossover on the"as you wish" project

Hey bud. Don't be crushed at all. Alex, SpideyFett here on the RPF, has been working on the IronFett since around last Oct if I recall correctly and he did an amazing job for our Make-A-Wish project, but that shouldn't slow you down at all! It has been a lot of fun watching you work on this and build your own version which IS different than what Alex did. Same idea but different execution, so what you are doing is still plenty unique!

I believe Art was trying to get a Predator/Fett helmet done over at The Hunter's Lair for the charity auction but it fell through, That would be a cool project though !

The Predator helmet was picked up by Legacy Effects and turned into "the Scavenger" which is one of the coolest helmets out there!

This is really cool, I've always liked hybrid-helms. Don't worry about what the other guy made, they're both cool! It's like if you were making a Corvette and saw he was making a Mustang. Don't be discouraged just because they're both sports cars... er, Iron-Fett helmets... they're still plenty different and unique ideas!

That helmet rocks! Its like so much can be see in it, its like you made the generic sci fi helmet to end sci fi helmets, but at the same time it is so much more idk what it is about this design but I love it. I almost want you to scrap the rest of the suit idea and start from the ground up on armor to match great job.

Thanks Art, that means a lot, and Thanks to everyone for the support, I'm pumped up about finishing this helmet now ! I sanded the helmet back down last night because the "scratches" didn't come out very well, I was testing out using silicone as a masking agent, kinda like you would use liquid latex, but it didn't work good at all. I decided to actually carve in the scatches and repaint the entire helmet a little different. I might even tackle a Predator Fett crossover after this myself ! In the meantime, I can't wait to see more pictures of the SpideyFett contribution ! The first pic looks awesome !

Today I started cutting in the panel lines and carved in some claw marks across the eye, still have to clean these up but you get the idea. Here you can see the finished vent part on the top also, which I did after my last picture.

This is an awesome project! As soon as I saw it, I couldn't help but sketch something out on a scrap of paper that came to mind. I'd like to post it, but I figured I should ask first, since I know sometimes people like ideas to be their own and it can be disheartening to have a hundred people saying "well here's how I would have done it." I don't want to step on any toes for my very first post on this forum, after all.

Otherwise, keep up the good work! I can't wait to see how this turns out. Two of my favorite characters combined!
