Iron Man Armour - If not from scratch yourself, what are the options?

I'd really like some quality Iron Man armour however the pepakura/foam methods are not really for me. I'd like a helmet and the armour to be of the same quality as the likes of TMP's armour.

Other than the diy armour which I doubt I would achieve the same quality results, what sort of options are out there? Where are the best places to look? eBay seems to worth missing out.

Its not cheap, but you pay for quality.

you can pay other people to do the building. so for example pay one person to pep a suit for you, then send theepepped suit to another prson so that he would body fill it and smooth it out and spray paint and then send it to the hird person to install lights and joints and hinges.

That way it should be cheaper than asking one person to make the whole suit for you.

if i had the spare coin i would definitely buy some armour, i don't have enough patience to make something as in depth as TMP's armour

You can either do it yourself for a few hundred dollars, or you can have it made professionally for a few thousand. You're paying for the expertise of sculptors, modelers, painters and finishers. They are well worth their premium, but it is costly.

I have to disagree about the pep not being as good of an option, look at my sig link. My suit started as pep I think It's fairly high quality.

your stuff is amazing. The Iron Man suit is gorgeous, but the Rocketeer helmet is stunning, I love that helmet.

I agree with finhead. It is really costly to buy pieces from others as well most of the time. The helmet alone for my iron man costume cost me 400, arc reactor was 80, leds were 200 total, that alone already puts it quite high. At best it would be far cheaper (but also a little more time consuming) to put it together yourself. Id say build one, mainly because you will feel extremely proud of what you've accomplished afterwards.
