Interest Thread: Trek XI GOLD DYED PRINTED FABRIC

Official Licensee
Its time my friends - Let's start making this happen. If you've been following the thread, you will see that my team has been working to locate original dyers and printers for this project. I am happy to say, that while we've located the original dyer, we've come upon a printer who is willing to work with us in establishing the right color for the pattern to be placed on the dyed fabric.

As also stated in the thread, this is also where your hobby meets your wallet. This is not going to be a cheap project and the only motto our team operates by is : Do it right, or not at all. That means, use the original manufacturers or go home. In this case, its going to take some money.

Therefore, let's get this going. The first thing we are going to do is get the fabric dyed and thereafter, get it printed. Each process will take some time because getting the color right shouldn't be too difficult (since its the original source) but the printing will take some time because we will have to coordinate the right color ink to match fabric color in the pattern.

The first color we are going with is : GOLD.

There is a three yard minimum order and the price is going to be ~$205. This is DYED FABRIC and PRINT ONLY.

We are still going to have an operation to put these together for a final product but in the interest of time proficiency, we want to get the fabric going. Should you need a future assembly option, we will also provide a resource for this.

If you are going to get into this run, please list yourself below. We are still working on the final price, but we will require something like a half down and half later.

Since we don't have a final price, this is still an interest list but serious buyers only since you have an estimated price.

Also, I would like to say that we are NOT committing to any timeline such as Halloween, Dcon or Comic Con.

I really want to see these uniforms happen, but wanted Blue more than the others.

I'll jump on this, along with your assembly option, to keep this going. :thumbsup

Also...shouldn't this Interest Thread be in the Junkyard? You might get more response over there.

I would be interested in a completed shirt. Not sure how far off that is but I am def commited to one Gold command shirt (with undershirt) and a red ladies top with undershirt.

I am in.
So this is for 3 yards, is that enough for one shirt?

Could you give an estimate on material needed for the typical shirt sizes? Also how mush would you need for ladies dresses?

I'm in for sure.

3 yard should be plenty for a shirt or dress.

Will it be 45" or 60" wide fabric (two standard sizes)?

And watching the film. I would say that the collar is an attached dickey and not an under shirt. But that is a guess. Anyone know for sure?

Hey all, this is for 45" fabric. Yes, three yards is good for one shirt...not sure about the dresses .. my first thought is ... yes but I will have to get back to my seamstress about this to confirm.

Thank you all for chiming in.. this is going to be a reality soon ! There's so much that goes on with this that I feel like setting up a twitter thing just so you all could see what we do ON TOP of our daily jobs.

I'd be in except that my wife got fired from her job for being pregnant, and my overtime has been cut WAY down, not to mention just spending a small fortune on a funeral...

I'm flat out broke for the next 3 or 4 months :(

I'm in - with the proviso that there has to be some kind of further mechanism in place for completing the project - otherwise, I'll be the proud owner of 3 yards of useless. 8O)

To echo Perigee, I'm in for 3 yards @ ~ $205 total...provided we have a source to construct the tunic.

Was also wondering if the black undershirt was going to be offered, or will that be a DIY since it's not a complicated piece.

GotMaul, hats off to you and your team for the amount of diligent research you've undertaken to bring this to fruition. KEEP ON TREKKIN"!!!! ;)
