I'm gauging interest in a resin copy of my quad canopy for the studio-scale Starfighter (will fit a J. Key or Niesen kit). Canopy will be hollow, but will have solid windows so they can be painted black like the original studio model. If you wish to open up these areas, they will be thin enough to easily trim them out (of course it will be up to you to create a different 4-passenger interior!).

Like the original model, this would be an interchangeable part for the standard Starfighter cockpit canopy. However, this one differs from the original model in that the details are all dimensional- the original's windows were originally drawn/painted on, reflections and all.

Price will be $25 plus shipping (Priority Mail will be $5 to most places in the US).

Post your interest here. Thanks!

I have the JK model, which I have already built and painted.

Can this be adapted to fit over the existing canopy?

What do you think about cutting out the window areas and backing with gloss black sheeting? Painting those very cleanly looks to be a pain.

I am interested.

I first tried to engineer the quad canopy to go over the existing one, but it just didn't work. I ended up doing it the way they did the original.

You could certainly cut out the windows and replace them with gloss, but I didnt' have any problem masking/painting those areas. It would be easier painting the black first, then masking that off to paint the rest.
