eBay M60 for €2k

I paid $200 for mine? In cash to a stranger, like drugs.

I used to work for a guy that paid me like that. I worked remotely writing software for him. We'd meet in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons where he'd pass me an envelope full of $20s through his car window. It was level 8 sketchy but meh..
Well, you were close to get your Double-Double with some of that money:p:p(y)(y)

Yeah, that's just absurd. I did some back-of-napkin math and that single kit would work out to be about 20% of the total I've spent on this build so far. It would be nice if Bandai would reissue these older kits rather than spit out more giant robot things.

I was fortunate enough to be given castings of the three or four required parts you need this kit for so never had to buy it (although I do have the M60A1, which as some of the required parts). I used the castings on my build, but I also took the time to create a 3D model of the turret base used on one of the upper walk ways. With the casting I was able to get exact dimensions, I'll post it over on scifikitbash.com when I get a chance so people won't have to worry about spending $3500 for what is essentially a few bits of plastic.

the problem with a new edition is always the justification for it. As a rule, there are identical models with higher details, which will put a reissue of older kits for the masses into question.

I just had a conversation with someone yesterday about the reissue of the sealab. It is possible that the interest in this kit will not be of interest to the masses and, as suspected, is only aimed at model builders who need parts for other models. The consequence would be that not much is produced because sales are lacking. Accordingly, this kit would not be available on the market for long because the economic aspect is missing.

It is similar with the Bandai 1/48 Panther G model, there are much better models with more details, Bandai will not re-release it because they probably take exactly this aspect into account.
