Interactive digital display plaques for props

Been thinking about this for a while now - it seems like small LCD screens are getting cheaper and cheaper - has anyone ever designed a wall plaque for their props that maybe featured images, stills, clips, film logo, etc. that you could "cycle" through? I'm thinking something along the lines of an eFx or MR plaque, but a little larger, and contained an LCD screen in it as well... I dunno, just thinking out loud, but could be cool.

Are there "programmable" LCD screens out there?

There's those picture frames that you pop a memory card into. you could use one of those because they have become pretty slick and cheap.

the keyring photo viewers are perfect for this. They run from $3 nowadays so they're affordable. I used one for an info plaque a while back.
A good trick is to have a larger frame lying flat so that an animation can be played under a prop. Think of the table train heist plans in Firefly.
