Hi guys.

I stumbled upon this Death Star Gunner helmet on eBay in a eBay shop called "SW-MOVIE-PROPS"

I communicated with the seller (Paul Williams) or (David) over eBay regarding shipment to Germany, so far so good.

Transferred the money over PaPal and then weird things started to happen.
First the guy did not write me back when asking if he has shipped it and then I got this strange mail from his Wife...well supposedly, telling me that "David" suffered a stroke but should be back from the Hospital any day now. Thats over two weeks ago. I have written and asked if all is ok etc, but not a peep.

Now I started a "recall action" on PayPal but that will take some time I guess.

Have anyone form you guys ever heard of this guy/shop, is it a scam or can someone confirm that this guy is valid?.

Ha has over 100 positive buyers on eBay

but not sure if you can fake that.

Any info on this matter would be helpful.

Cheers guys.

Does the negative feedback say anything useful? As above eBay are pretty good

As Stormy said, you definitely have to contact ebay's costumer service !!!
It really sounds strange that he got two names and he, or his wife, didn't contact you since two weeks...
On the other hand it may be that " Paul " is just an online synonym and " David " is his real name, he really got a stroke, and something bad happened meanwhile, so they don't have the time to contact you...
However, here are some tips for contacting eBay's costumer service and handle the situation :

People do get strokes... soooo if he did then 2 weeks is a blink of an eye and his Ebay stuff will be the last of his wife's concern right now.

As everyone said just contact eBay and let them handle for you. No sense in wasting time worrying if it's a scam or real.

Yes, as others said do contact eBay, they make it pretty good for buyers in dealing with things like this. Make sure you begin the process before whatever time limit for reporting it expires.

Also, yes, it is entirely possible to have scammers who have high positive review numbers. This is because some people stupidly write positive reviews as soon as they buy something, instead of waiting until the item actually arrives. I've never understood that. Just stupid.

Smells like the usual scammer situation where illness strikes as soon as payment hits there Paypal account. I'd contact Ebay right away and put in a dispute.

Contact the bay and get your money back.

Do NOT listen to anymore BS from the seller

Just a word of warning, if you put a dispute in don't retract the dispute until you have the item in hand in good condition, or your money refunded. You can't re-instate a dispute after you closed it. For example... The seller promises that they will ship the item immediately and gives you a waybill number. In good faith you retract your dispute. Wait even longer and still not receive your item. The only thing you can do after that is leave an unsatisfactory remark in your comment about the transaction.

What most people don´t know...the buyer protecting timeframe is a lot shorter (if you pay with paypal)when you buy from ebay as if you pay direct with paypal.

To answer one of your questions, Yes you can fake your feedback score. You buy a bunch of low cost items and get positive feedback from those things. Then you sell the big items and scam people.

Been following this thread with interest as I was scammed by fake Etsy seller a couple of years ago,so just out of curiosity after reading all the posts on here I looked at this eBay seller items & sent him a message asking him if he would take an offer on the death star gunner helmet, after a few short messages he sent me this one.
Ha ha ha ! This could take a while!!!
I am a reasonable guy, but not stupid!!
This is a really nice helmet, and not a DIY replica like most that show themselves. I've had serious collectors worldwide buying these helmets, saying they are the most accurate they have come across.
If you make a serious offer, I will consider it.....but in do have to take into account all the fees that Ebay and paypal charge, which are considerable totalling 15%. I have had to add this 15% onto what I want for the helmet for this listing.
Are you a collector or a costumer??
David.
So either he's made a full recovery or he was never ill in the first place, I will let you decide! Just hope this helps the OP into getting his money back I know what it's like when this happens!
