Does anyone have info on the production figures from Small Soldiers?

I'm looking for info on all the figures including the Gwendy dolls.

I have this issue, it has lots of pics of the sculpts. Oher than this, I don;t know where to look... Though the DVD has some cool behind the scenes stuff. As well as the movie :)

Thanks

FAO Schwartz sold copies of Chip and Archer from the original molds and produced/built/painted by Stan Winston Studio. The set cost quite a bit and only a few were ever released, but you can't get any better than that if you can find them.

Thanks seknewb, any pics or links??

The best pics I have are from 1998 when I visted the Universal display. If I thought about it then, I would have gotten more references. But who knew it would not be a popular film until DVD??

I just looked throught the issue of cinefex I mentioned and there are several shots of the figures being sculpted and a lot of close up pics of the finihsed sculpts.

Bumpity ! An old thread revived !

They are showing the movie atm on tv, and I am always surprised how well the movie was made.

So, any infos on the FAO Schwartz figs or who here might have a few original props from the movie ?

EDIT : If a MOD sees this thread, can you please move it to the Prop section ? we don´t have an "artificial actor" section yet, so that would be the closest, just like good ol´ *shudder* "Chucky"

IIRC, you used to be able to buy them directly from SW Studios. Directly from the molds, hand painted and REALLY expensive!

-B89! :D

If only you had asked this 4 years ago. I worked on this movie as a PA and eventually right beside the great Joe Dante. I got to meet Phil Hartman and Christian Dunst was as cute as a button (what happened?). Anyway, I was given a complete set of these figures by one of the producers as a thank you gift. They were all in box along with the Gorgonites and a Gwendy doll signed by Dunst I gave them away 4 years ago to a die hard collector in Japan who loves the movie more than anything - and I really had no use for them. I might have some pics around here but I'm going to need some major time to find them. I think Terry Rossio may also have a prop or two but I'll need to ask him to see if he still does.

JB, that would be great ! And worth a wait, no problem with that. I can trade you a bunch of Ultraman prop pics that I took last year at the huge exhibit in Roppongi Hills Tower in Tokyo and at the "Venus Fort" on Odaiba/Tokyo :love

Aw, heck, I´ll post them anyway in a separate thread in the next few days.:cool

DEAL! And now you got me daydreaming about the pics you took

It would be nice to see those sculpts. Due to a clown who scred up a recent deal and left me high and dry, I can't afford anything right now, but I would like to see them for when things turn around.

As seen on eBay recently...
