Infinity Gems - Version 2!

Just wanted to share a pic of a side project I did. I am currently working on having them mirror backed so they can reflect light, but haven't had much luck on it...

They have a pretty nice facet patten on there, and are a decent size. The clear-ish one is actually purple, it's just hard to get that color in a small stone.

I made sure to get a few spare sets in case I screw up the mirror backing as well. I think I am going to try this "make a mirror" kit from michaels. It's some kind of spray paint and sealant.

Any tips on foil backing/making em shiny?

Thye make silver leafing kits...don't they? Maybe you could use that to add to the back? That should make them nice and reflective.

Now that is neat. The Infinity Gauntlet was my favorite comic miniseries. Wasn't someone here making a gauntlet to go with these kinds of gems?

It's still in the making. I have a seamstress tackling the project, and she is doing a hell of a job, but I think this is the 4th or 5th year in a row :lol

Can't complain though. These gems are actually a little smaller than the ones on the gauntlet, but they are shiny . Got an email a little while ago, and yes these are made of crystal as well.

New pics, turns out that mirror backing stuff works pretty good!

These came out looking awesome. I had to redo the purple one once after the picture was taken, my fingernail scraped off some of the foil stuff but after another few coats, you really can't tell.
