Update:

I've decided to NOT go with the flatback Swarovski stones, since they don't throw off enough sparkle or BLING!:rolleyes
They look more like little mirrors instead of diamonds and just kind of ruins the effect of the whole thing.
So, I ordered some cushion back Swarovski crystals to give the effect of real diamonds! Because, I just know how you guys just have to have your BLING-BLING!:lol

It shouldn't be too long now! Maybe a couple of weeks. The feather company is working on the feather plumes right now and should be getting shipped by early next week. And, as soon as the new crystals come in, I'll be able to finish the sculpt to make sure the crystals fit before I mold it and cast it in fine pewter.

I keep getting asked when I'm going to put up an interest list for this.

I've decided to not put an interest list up until I've finished one of the Voodoo pins. This way I'll know how much work goes into making one and can have an idea on what the price will be for these.

So, when I finally post a completed Voodoo pin, that will be the day the interest list will go up in the Junkyard.

I can't finish the sculpt until I have the feather plumes in, so I know how the feather insert will be like on the sculpt.
I actually called them yesterday to see what the holdup was, and they said the feathers got delayed in customs, since these are coming from out of the country.:unsure
Anyways, they said they should have them in the next couple of days and ship them my way.

Update:

I just recieved the feather plumes in and they're incredible!!!!
The only problem, is they made them a couple of inches too long!:unsure
So, I'll be having to trim them up from the bottom to make them more accurate.
Aside from the extra work I'm having to do, the factory did an awesome job on them and I think you guys will be pleased!thumbsup

Sorry guys, I took last week (Spring Break) off from working on anything and now I'm sick with a serious cold, flu, or whatever bug that's going around.:sick
So, it's another week of not wanting to do anything but sit on the couch and watch movies to see what props to add to the list to either make or buy!:thumbsup
I did find another crystal prop to do, but I'll wait to announce what it is until I've secured everything to be able to get it made...

The Voodoo pin sculpt is almost done. I'm just having trouble deciding how the back is going to look. I want it to compliment the front, so I should hopefully have decided how I want it to look and have something to show you soon.

I summoned up the power of Kali this week and finished the sculpt late last night!
From the screencaps, it's obvious there's a huge diamond on the back with a ruby on the top and bottom of it. What was around it, looked like some sort of rippled pattern. So, here's my representation of what it could look like.
The needle that is used is a really thick 10 gauge needle.
All I have to do now is throw this thing in a mold and get a test cast along with pictures of the finished Voodoo Pin!thumbsup

Here's the finished sculpt! I didn't want to push the feather plume all the way into it's setting, since I was afraid of the clay splitting, but you guys get the idea of how it looks.
I can't wait to see this thing is shiny metal!!!
