More recent Japanese firearms laws don’t permit all-metal replica guns. Usually the barrel and cylinder are ABS plastic which has been mixed with metal powder or is coated with some type of metal. Usually it’s difficult to tell the difference between the plastic and metal parts because The Japanese manufacturers do a really good job.
Looking at mine, the only piece I can tell that isn't metal is the grip, which is imitation wood. Could be wrong, I'm not sure. But the entire outer body/shell feels like metal to me.
