Importing Blasters into the Uk

A while back there was a huge thing about the new gun laws in the UK.
However, I haven't heard anyone yet actually having their blaster/gun seized ?
Has anyone actually had any problems, or have they just not taken the risk?

Never had any problems so far but its always been kits or parts. Last one through was a Matuo 870, but again it was in parts not whole.

I've had two Denix mausers, and two huge resin STGW-44 kits shipped in from Europe without any hassles whatsoever. Mind you, I was bricking it whilst waiting for them to arrive!

There's some good info & observations on the subject here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=74724&highlight=vera

My personal belief is that UK customs are nowhere near as hot on it as, say, Australia. but obviously, the risk is there. If you decide to take the risk, make sure the sender doesn't mention gun, weapon, or anthing that might raise any sort of flag.

The other option, if bearable, is to have the seller spray it a bright colour.

if your going to paint it a bright color, use poster paint with hair spray to seal it. It should wash right off with warm water.

I had a Sideshow Rosebox Shotgun siezed and destroyed by customs yet i've had a Predator shoulder cannon come through with no problems, its pretty much a gamble although getting the sender to label it properly is half the battle. The predator cannon came labelled a halloween film prop, god knows what the Sideshow item had written on it but that would stick out big time on an xray machine.

I think as you say a lot of people are not taking the risk and trying to source stuff in the UK. Saying that i have heard of a couple of cases of props being seized. Its definately a calculated risk and as said get the labelling changed so it doesn't mention anything to do with guns. All the people i have heard buying props in kit form dont seem to have a problem though.
