I have been running a game of Edge of the Empire for years, and I decided last year that I should build a dice tower to make rolling dice easier and to wow my group and help them get more into the game. I was just going to make a Death Star Turbolaser Tower, but feature creep and Advanced Modeler's Syndrome reared its ugly head, and needless to say this thing is probably one of the more impressive dice towers you're going to see for a Star Wars game!
The most interesting thing about it in my mind is that the entire build is made from paper and cardboard, save for some wire, electronics, and foamcore for the base. That includes the greebles. They're not 100% accurate to the original tower hero mini, but the goal was "look cool" and not accuracy.
It takes up perhaps a little too much space on the table, but nobody minds because they have a lot of fun seeing dice roll out of the base of the tower! And I'm pretty sure they're going to remember this thing for the rest of their lives, so I'm happy.
