I Won an Award with my Costume Design!

Thought some of my fellow RPFers might be interested in this. After all it's a step in the direction most of us want to go. To be successful playing dress-up. Right?

Early this year I got a chance to design a unique production of Euripdes' Medea for my Masters program. The concept ended up getting a little bit of a SCi-Fi twist to it with a classis/modern combination. I took the designs to a regional theatre festival and won 3rd in master level costume design.

The show itself was pretty horrid, the director had too much going on in it, but it sure was pretty. Not just my stuff either. Our lighting designer also took home an award.

Haha! No, she's signing. Our Medea was deaf. Unfortunately the director ran with that and made it gimmicky.
