I need some Vader advice

Greetings all, I purchased one of manuel's Vader helmets this year and have been struggling with the neck brace. I've been using industrial strength velcro to attach the brace to the helmet but the darn stuff keeps peeling up. Does anybody have any solutions that are more long term than velcro? Thanks for your time:)

I have no experience with the neck brack myself but i would bet you could get some rare earth magnets that will hold together.

You could use heavy duty snaps as found in boating shops for holding down seat covers etc.....These are also found a bit cheaper in fabric shops. They usually have a threaded stem that can either be drilled and screwed into the neckbrace, or glassed in with epoxy etc....

There are also some "moulded" velcro that could be used. Each side is identical.........has tiny mushroom shaped knobs all over the working surfaces......this will retain it's stickability as it doesn't get ripped apart like the loop and hook style of velcro. This style is a bit more rare, but I have found it in local hardware and fabric stores from time to time.

Dave :)

I srcew mine in my display vader helmet.

I've been told that if you heat up industrial velcro w/ a hairdryer while applying it then letting it cool, it will stay on much better.

Hmm..mine from him fits without any velcro or screws. The four little plastic flaps pull back, allowing the mask to go between the four flaps and the main neck brace. It's a wedge-fit kinda thing and is tight.
