I need help with my rubber cap helmet! Check out the pics

Hey Everybody,

My Avengers CAP outifit is done but I need to create room at the top of my rubber helmet. It pinches at the top and does not look quite right. I need some advice before ComicCon. Feedback on the costume is also welcome. Thanks!

Are you planning on adding the side ear cover parts at any stage? That might change the look of the helmet.

As for adding room at the top, I've never worked with rubber so I don't have any ideas there unfortunately.

Given that it's rubber, have you thought about hitting it with a heat gun and (gently) stretching/reforming the rubber over a mannequin head?
