I can rebuild him: Better, Stronger, Fatter than he was before

I am sure that many of you that have purchased a mannequin have realized that they are not in the pose that you want. They are posed in less than optimal positions, and I wanted to correct that.

This guy was too skinny, and his head was turned and tilted to one side. This created a problem with wearing armor, as the chest was so thin, that when it wore the chest armor, there wasn't enough room for the arms to fit on. It also was difficult to fit a helmet on him, because his head was ******.

So I split him up the middle and widened him 2.25". This brings his chest width closer to my own. Hopefully, if his dimensions are closer to my own, I can use him for sculpting onto, for future costume work. I also straightened his head, so that a helmet will fit onto it.

I still have the legs to do. They need to be widened too, so that the thigh armor fits onto it. I just thought I would post a picture of my little rebuilt guy:

i have been wanting to buy a mannequin also but thought of the same problem all i have to say is your a legend for sharing your solution and the pic will be a great help too , good luck with future projects.

That's a good question. I used calipers to match my chest and hip width, but didn't measure the size with a ruler. I am 6' tall. The mannequin matches my height and width, but is still rather thin front-to-back. I am mot going to cut him sideways to correct that. This is for displaying a set of armor. As long ans the pieces fit onto him, he is done.

Over the weekend, I did the bottom and sliced him up the crotch. He got fibergalssed back together, but did get the top part put back on, so I can't mate the top and bottom just yet. When I do, I will post some pictures
