how to mount E-11 counter?

I'm assembling my Doopydoo E-11 blaster and just have to make a bar to mount the scope as well as mounting the counter box.

I need to find out how to mount the counter box though. does it just glue straight on the tube itself?

its been many years since having to do this but I simply took a length of aluminum stock, bent it, drilled a hole to mount to the scope bolt/mount, then screwed the H-Box to the aluminum stock.

Because both parts are resin, I would drill and insert a pair of plugs into the surface of the blaster, and drill matching holes into the counter. I would paint the parts separately with the plugs and holes masked off before gluing them together with epoxy.
Another common method is to use an angled metal bracket between the scope rail and counter, but that would be visible on close inspection and AFAIK, the original blaster had the counter simply glued on.

Always use epoxy for heavy resin parts - parts attached with superglue can be knocked off. Also don't use superglue for attaching a clear window on the Hengstler counter - the fumes from superglue can make clear plastic fog up. (I learned that the hard way..)
The very first step in a resin build is to wash the parts with soap and water because any residue mould release from the casting process can prevent glue and paint from sticking - but I suppose that you already knew that. (wasn't so sure with your low post count ;) )

You have I guess 2 options: glue it and make it this way very accurate (they glued the Hengstlers on the screen used blaster and thus many fell off during filming) or use a T-shaped bracket that can be attached to the scope rail, not that accurate, but more elegant, and you can remove at will.

As jkno said, they had a tendency to fall off. Here is Luke's:

You will notice the gray residue from glue or tape along the body and the scope where it appears a box was once attached.

If you want an example of what a the bracket attached to the scope rail looks like, take a look at this: THG Props V.3 Rubber ANH E-11 Blasters - Ongoing Sales & Project Orders - 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment

I've used both plastic and metal L brackets. It will look a lot better/professional rather than glue. Also screw mounting is more secure into the rail and counter than to glue which has more possibility of coming off.
