How do you handle these cuts?

I'm looking at some armor to make and I have run into a couple areas where I'm not sure how to proceed. An example is in the pic below.


Do you cut or score that area? there are more like this where the distance is varied but when I do cut them I never get a good glue hold, or would that not matter since i will be fiberglassing that area anyway... any help would be great

I only did a few pieces using pep builds but whenever I came to a part like this I just folded it along the line.

I cut it and glue a piece of scrap paper on the back for reinforcement.
