How do you disassemble an MR FX Anakin AOTC?

The blades already broken off, and the electronics aren't so good, so how do I remove what's left of them? I've tried unscrewing that little Allen screw on the emitter shroud and the knob on the back of the shroud by the switch, but there's still a tube type thing going through the emitter, by what's left of the blade. Also tried removing the screw on the battery pack, but that doesn't seem to loosen the back end.

Any ideas?

Yours seems to me made so that the hilt would last for a while. I took mine apart, but trust me, it will screw up upon re-assembly, especially the control box and ciruit board.

Circuit board? Wouldn't that be the ROTS version? I'm working on the original MR FX saber, with the EL blade. Where the electronics always seem to crap out. :rolleyes

Oops, you're right, sorry, I thought they only made the ROTS so I saw MR FX Anakin and thought it meant the ROTS. But yeah, mine's screwed up.

Thanks, Ti-el! That looks like it should do the trick! Now I'm not sure when I'm gonna have the time to do it... :lol

And don't worry, JunkSabers, it's easy to get confused with all the abbreviations. At least now I'll think a bit more before geting a ROTS version to dink around with. :thumbsup

I bought mine out of box and slightly used for $30 from a Best Buy who had it on display to advertise the FX sabers. I wanted it #1 because I'd never had an official lightsaber replica (I had constructed at home an Obi ANH syle saber and a Dooku style saber out of junk from my grandparents' basement, hence my screenname, but nothing truly accurate or official), and #2 cuz it got a few scratches, dents, dings, etc from being in storage after their FX sabers sold out, so it looked like a weathered version of Anakin's saber (kind of like I imagined it would've looked like in ANH if they remade it and used a aged Ani saber prop). The blade was sturdy even though some of the LEDs were shorted out from people testing it out at the store. I wanted to see if I could remove the blade to make a hero saber and I used some of the tutorials on hre to do it. It was hard work and I permanently screwed up the control box/ciruit board/power switch cuz of all the tiny parts that got dented. Now the thing will turn on and off by itself at times as the electronics roll around in there. I have removed and replaced the blade several times so far, but I might not be able to again since the screws have to be set in there SO tightly that you have to strip their heads more and more everytime you remove the blade. All in all, it has been a good prop replica I am proud to own, especially the weathered look. The Best Buy also had a Vader ESB, but they said a kid snapped the blade so they tossed it all out, even the HILT!:cry I woulda wanted that hilt too!
