How do boots work?

Couldn't have thought anything else for the title... so

I just bought brand new Corcoran boots, and they are awesome. They are a wee-bit tight, but leather eventually gets softer. So they fit like a glove, but the problem I'm encountering is with my big calf. First thing thats gonna help is to obtain longer shoe laces but even then, the tongue of the shoe doesn't cover my leg completely. I imagine wearing my Ghostbusters uniform and if I decide to tuck the pant legs into them, the material is gonna show. It's a minor gripe, but is there any fix to this? Should I consider getting the next size up?

Going the next size up might help a little with the tightness, but may not do much for the tongue issue depending on the size of your calves.

There are a couple of options...

1) Cuff the legs of the coveralls a la Dr. Venkman
2) Google "boot bands" or "blousing bands" to blouse the cuffs over the tops of the boots at whatever height you desire to cover any problem areas.

Hope this helps.
