HK 417 prop

I am building a prop HK 417 gun that I have been seeing in all the army movies recently. Follow me as I post pictures of the build and offer advice and ideas to make it better. I'm not sure what method to paint it to have the best look

Two or three coats of primer followed by a coat or two of matte black ? After the appropriate amount of sanding the primer of course.
