I warned you......

It started with a trip to Goodwill and a horribly beat up and broken Vader FX Saber (Plastic One).

Some one gutted it and put it back together so nothing inside.

Then I started messing around and this abomination was spawned!!!!!!!

I can't be the only one that thinks that's far from a abomination. Looking good, just needs a few more details.

I'm no saber expert, but it looks like a Vader saber to me. A good one at that, nicely done!

I'm not a saber guy. but It looks good to me. Is that leather?

Nah, just rattlecan metallic black paint.

It is made from mostly spare parts.

Parts lists is as follows (These were in my junk bin):

1.5 inch Chrome Plumbing Pipe
1.5 inch Plastic Plumbing Pipe
Chrome Hole Cover
Rivets
Screw
O rings
Metal D Ring

The busted saber was $2.00

I used the shroud parts and cut the activation box from the toy.
Had to do some light sanding because it was a wreck when I got it.
Metallic Black Paint and some silver Rub and Buff.
Gold and Black Detail Tape for the activation plate.

I need some grips and I am going to call this one done.

A presentable sabre for around $20.00 (unless I find some grip realllllll cheap), not bad for a Thursday.

Very very nice and actually looks good the way it is.

if you really want to go on the cheap for the grips, use old or new windshield wiper blades, just cut the wiper part off and you can find different thicknesses of blades to see which 1 works for you, just a suggestion :)

Re: Hide your eyes from the horror that is.....THE JUNKSABER 2.0!!!!!

Windshield wiper blades? No, the original T-tracks were made of hard black plastic, probably ABS. The viper blade theory was debunked a decade ago...
If you cut off and file the bottom of the T-tracks from the Hasbro blaster and put them onto the sink tube, you would get more accurate T-track "grips" than any viper blades.

Now, the saber does lack the port holes near the emitter. However, sink tubes are usually made of brass and if you cut the holes you would risk exposing the brass which would look ugly. Vacuum cleaner tubes on the other hand are usually made of steel or aluminium, but are often somewhat tapered. The cut surface of chromed steel looks like steel, but chrome-plated aluminium has a layer of copper in-between.
BTW. Looks great! Before I read the text, I thought that you had used more expensive parts, original or replica.

about the grips I already knew they were not wipers. remember, he is going for cheap! have you seen the wipers on a semi truck?, anyway, as I stated my idea was just a suggestion, MTFBWY my friend :)

And now the abomination is complete. The grips are from TCSS. I think I need to nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure......

I can only assume you call it an abomination because it represents the dark side. Otherwise it looks awesome, great job!
