Was always a fan of the original planet of the Apes
One of my first costumes proves it

The soldier took over two years to get together & get the leatherwork right . The conquest version took only a couple of months to find the parts & make the required modifications .
This costume is by far the most fun to wear at events . Ive now got a proper cleaners trolly to use with the conquest ape .

i remember watching it on tv as a small child and seeing that first pic of you on horseback took me back to my childhood and scared the crap outta me for a second. lol

Thanks for the comments guys :thumbsup

It took a while to get finished , but well worth the wait . Ive had many costumes in the past 7+ years & this one is by far the most fun to wear .

As a kid I would watch the films / TV show's with my mask on (I had a couple of versions ) & would only take it off when it had finished :wacko

The apes are rising in the UK & there's more & more joining the ranks , Its a shame we can't take the horses to events , but are looking to make a cage to put the human captives in :lol

Upgrades I would like to do is a backpack & proper prosthetics as mine is a pull over mask , so I only grunt in it & only speak if no one is looking :lol

Hello Dave! I love the costume, great job! What version is that gorilla mask? And did you make the uniform from scratch? I am blown away and I am going to give it a stab based on your photos and my love for the original movies. thanks for the inspiration!

The mask is a black face economy / collectors mask , c/w neck seal from apemania & we also used there buttons for the ammo packs .

The gloves , bandolier & tunic were made by a leather worker here in the UK out of real leather , Sadly he passed away last year .

For the boots we used Soviet official field boots 45cm high

The toe conversion & boot buckles my fellow ape Jon made , Im sure he can make some more

The clothing we got Dickies workwear Trousers & shirt ( colour maroon )
(The sizes come up smaller , so get the next size up ).

For the trousers you need to un stitch the seam that runs down the front

Light weight rounders bat on e-bay we used for the clubs & the correct clip for the bandolier is the nightmare bit to get right .

The guns came from Phillipes on this forum

Hope this helps you out & PM me if you need more info
Dave

Than you for the help, I appreciate the time you took to list that stuff for me. I think those damn dirty apes must have bought all the Dickies maroon shirts, as they don't have a single one in stock.
Sorry to hear about the leather craftsman, he looked talented. I will probably attempt to disassemble an old leather coat and do it myself. As for the mask, I found that easily enough, but the neck seal or beard - is that the one sold for $50? If it is, it looks like you did a barber job on it?
I tried to join the 'forum of the apes' but it looks like it doesn't get any traffic anymore and I haven't heard back from the webmaster. Too bad, it looks like and informative sight.
Thanks a million Dave! I just hope I can achieve a costume half as nice as yours!
