Help with Bioshock 2 Big Sister helmet

Hey guys, a friend of mine was asking if I could help her with a Big Sister costume from Bioshock 2. I REALLY don't want to mold it and cast one. I have a 14" acrylic sphere that I want to use to make it. My only problem is that I need to make it look like it was hammered and whatnot, hammered paint just wont do. I'm afraid if I use epoxy putty, atleast all the kinds I've used, is that it will be too irregular. Any advice anyone could give would be GREATLY appreciated.

Try using a soldering iron on low heat to dent a small section - you may be able to keep the heat localized enough not to warp the whole thing.

that's what I was thinking, but maybe use something with a larger surface area

im using pepakura and to make my delta helmet for dragoncon 2011, and pepakura makes it look realy accurate. if i were you, i would try to find a big sister pepakura helmet, or get someone to design a pepakura big sister helmet that you can use.
