Help?: Primer Application

Hey All

Just got some primer to apply to the outside of my ironman helmet but have no idea how to use it most efficiently.

Do I NEED to sand down the resin a little on the outside of the helmet or can I just apply it straight to it?

Or do I need to apply the body filler over the resin before even thinking about primer? Would like to know as really want to start getting some color to it and get rid of the pepping numbers, still looking too much like cardboard. :cry

Don't think about the primer yet.

Use the body filler, apply it where needed then sand, sand sand until it's all nice and smooth.

Then move on to the primer.

The primer will show up any rough areas. Let it dry then sand, sand, sand again.

Then more primer...and repeat until satisfied.
