Help needed: using glue on face shell / mask

Hello all,

Reading old posts, trying to find a good solution to my problem: I have a face shell with my Spider=Man costume. Glued the lenses onto the mask and shell (the eye holes were larger than my frames, so using glue to keep them in place was the only option). Didn't glue any other areas of the mask onto the shell. Now the mask fabric is wrinkling badly on the cheeks of the shell... horizontal wrinkles.

I'm trying to find a solution where glue does not show up through the mask (looking like permanent wet spots on the mask). If absolutely necessary to use glue I hope to use it under the chin, etc., where it is not so noticeable.

What specific glue would you recommend?

Any ideas on how to do it without glue so that the "wet" spots don't show up on my mask?

Any suggestions you can give will be appreciated!

Thank you.

Could you provide a picture of what your mask looks like right now? I can't speak for everyone, but I'm having a hard time visualizing what your mask currently looks like. A visual aid might help determine the best course of action.

Great idea! As you can see in the next 2 photos..... I need to pull the mask material down towards the chin (and maybe horizontally towards the ears) to eliminate the current wrinkling under the lenses and to the outside of the lenses. At this point, the only thing glued in place are the eye frames to the mask and shell.

Another member has suggested using seam grip on the nose and along the jaw line of the shell... when the seam grip dries it makes the surface "grippy" /rubbery but not tacky. He claims it will prevent the mask from sliding up after you pull it down over the shell.

Any help/suggestion appreciated!

The seam grip idea has merit. Anything else would probably show through the mask as something beneath it. I can't really think of a fastener that is low profile enough that you could fasten the bottom and/or back of the mask a bit further back on the face shell.

Thank you. If seam grip doesn't work... Suggestions on the type of glue to use and techniques are appreciated!

Have you thought of a spray adhesive. Maybe light coat wouldn't show through. Not exspensive and you could try nit on scrape fabric.
