Help needed for painting rubber shoes

What kind of paint would I use to paint the rubber sole and trim of a Vans-like canvas shoe? I would need it to be flexible (so it won't crack) but I don't want it to be tacky and sticky. Any suggestions? I'm painting black on white rubber.

You can try Jaquard Fabric paints, you can get them from Joannes. Or you can get some black spray on latex paint that is really nasty to work with.

Well, you can try black leather dye, the kind that comes in a bottle with a dauber, or you can try to paint on black high temp gasket silicone. I had to bond some pieces of rubber together, and the black gasket silicone worked very well, I don't now why you wouldnt be able to use it on the rubber sole of a shoe. You can find the silicone at a auto parts store.

Thanks guys. The silicone sounds like it would work, but it seems a bit too extreme for what I'm looking for. I'll try out the leather roll on dye and the fabric paint and let you guys know.
