Help finding pirate flintlock.

Hi I am trying to find the closest thing to these flintlocks that I can.



This will be for a costume I am working on. So far the closest thing I can find is a $4000 replica. Not exactly in my price range. Was hoping for maybe a model kit or just off the shelf replica that is pretty close but wont break the bank. Maybe some of the members with experience in pirate props can help me out here. Thanks in advance.

Edit: found this one but its sold out and no price listed anyway. Probably alot as well.

Get a plastic one and paint it up.
I know Disneyland sells plastic flintlocks.

Cenobyte is right, just find a cheapish toy flintlock. Try Dollar stores and whatnot for novelty toys like that, and just give it a good paint job to make the handle look more like wood.

You might still find it in dollar stores Etc without the chromed plastic (Here in the UK Pound Shops were rife with these).

They dissassemble pretty easy.
You could cut off the fluted 'funnel' muzzle for variants, also add the butt cap design with either Sculpey & a heatgun, or epoxy putty.

Here's a cheaper option of the one pistol posted above. The butt cap is extremely accurate to the one pistol in your ref. pictue, and the barrel of the other in the photo...

I think they took the endcap from the pistol you found, and put that on a smaller gun, while creating a dragon shaped end cap for the larger gun. The designs of these pistols are really inconsistent from image to image, but I think the best way to replicate these guns would be to do just that. Note that in the second image he has what seems to be an unmodified large pistol in a holster on his back.

This pirate gun looks similar to the English Dueling Flintlock Pistol (single-shot flintlock or percussion black-powder pistols) and you can easily find these as replica gun on various online websites. The only difference visible will be on the front funnel area.
