Help Finding Airsoft Replicas...

Hey folks!

So, what I'm having a pain in the ass finding right now are the type of airsoft guns that have the shell ejection function.

I've found an AEG M4 that does this, though it's more than a bit out of my price range at the moment. I have a M870 shotgun that has the shell ejecting feature (just need to get some more shells for it). Recently I've found a couple of shell ejecting gas powered M1911 pistols. Very stoked about that order coming in!

What I'm having trouble finding are shell ejecting gas powered airsoft Glock pistols. I know that Maurishin made some based off the Glock 21 model a handful of years back. I'm wondering if any company ever produced these in Glock 17? While the G17 model would be preferred, I'd be pleased with any sort of leads on either of them.

Basically, what I'm intending to do is use them for props in a webseries. We're going to [hopefully] be filming the pilot webisode this December, but while there's no gunfire in that episode I'm thinking ahead to when we will have action scenes. We can always do the "ejecting shell" as a VFX, but I love doing things practical. Plus, doing so with airsoft firearms is far safer than using blanks (and more cost friendly).

Anyway, anyone who has any information, it would be a great help!

I don't think there are any shell ejecting airsoft pistols, at least not in the mainstream market. I think Well still makes a conventional Blow Back Glock if that helps any.

Yeah, all the ones I've seen are imported from Japan. A few aftermarket ones I've found reviews for, just not any links to places where I can see if they're in stock.

I have a gas blow back G17, so I'm covered with having that and using the whole VFX situation should that be necessary (same with a gbb Beretta M92).

Not a bad suggestion! The price is just a little more than what I've seen the shell ejecting airsoft pistols go for, so it might be a viable substitute if the airsoft ones can't be found.

I'll have to make sure to bring it up with the others involved a the next production meeting. :)

The shell ejecting Airsoft guns are made my Marushin there is a glock a couple of 1911s a CZ75

Yup! The 1911s I ordered are Marushin. I've seen a few places with the CZ75 available; right now the goal is really to track down the damn Glock 21 version, as that seems to be the most problematic to find right now.

This is a uk site ,they may be able to point you in the right direction

Like I said to foldart, this is an excellent suggestion. If the cost can be maintained along with the safety factor, I'm all for us using this approach. I'm just not all that much a fan of how the cartridges spark where the casings eject from the slide when fired. But, if it's the way it gets done, no reason to complain! :)

There are several, however not as great a selection. I've seen CZ-75 pistols, M-16's, and there's even DBoys shell ejection K98 Karabiner WWII rifles. These are mostly for reenactors because they serve no real practical purpose for skirmishing.

These are mostly for the look, not for any sort of actual airsoft skirmishes. It's just so that, for the sake of time and cost, there would be one less visual effect to worry about when it comes to filming for the webseries.

Yeah, I completely glossed over that part :wacko

I've been looking for a nice inexpensive plinking G17 in airsoft but everyplace I've checked they're all out of stock or on indefinite backorder (Ehobbyasia, Den Trinity, Uncompany, AirSplat, Tokyo Hobby, etc.), although there are the more expensive ones still available from Echo 1, Tokyo Marui, WE, etc...

The one that I have right now is a KSC model that I got some years ago on eBay. Gas blow-back. Looks real good (partially because it shipped and somehow got through without the orange tip, so I have to be VERY careful when using that on productions; having everything in the original box helps with that). Wasn't terribly expensive at just around $180, not including shipping. If I find any place with decent G17s, I'll shoot you a PM. Does it matter to you if it's gbb or spring?

I've been looking for spring powered, preferably under $50. I only use them for plinking paper in the house and as wall hangers. I'm in too populated an area to risk taking one outdoors and having someone wig out and call the PD on me.

Gotcha!

I sent you a PM regarding pieces that would make a gbb version, but I'll keep the search in the spring action area now. ^_^
