I'm just starting my helmet collection. How do you display your helmets? Are they on some kind of stand? Are they in a case?

You can see my setup here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=138927 I usually use custom made stands.

I was actually just about to start a thread about helmet stands and where to find one like master replicas. You wouldnt happen to have any extra lying around for sale would you?

I always mean to invest in some stands but always end up spending my money on more props & not ways to display them :lol

currently im using upturned vases as helmet stands & takeaway boxes to put my blasters & Sabers on

one day I'll get organised :facepalm

Most of my helmets are on kitchen towel holders abused as helmet stands (unless the helmet came with a stand included). And most of them are in glass cabinets (mainly the good old ikea Detolfs). That should give you an idea:

this is what im currently working with now.

I want to get more of a master replicas stand so that i can make a custom plaque in the front.

I ordered the case a bit higher so that I may display it with the stand but should have done a bit more research as stands are pricey from what I seem to find I thought they were more around the $10 thus If im going to spend on one I rather get one that I really like.

Those are some impressive displays.

Do most of you use foam on the top of the stand like tfett40 shows?

There is Hdtheater here and he makes very cool stands.

You are my Hero

How many SW helmets do you have total??

I use Paper Towel stand as well. They are awesome and cheap.

Tom

I have 21 helmets and a couple on pre-order. :)

Another way to display helmets is on busts:

My preferred method is a grid wall with headwear hardware.

The benefits are:
Does not take up valuable shelf space.
Easy to add or subtract helmets from the collection.
Easy to change around display.
Can add other types of hardware such as hooks or shelves.
Only have to fasten hardware to wall once.

Oh my good goodness these are sweet collections.

I am down from 19 to 2. However I will re-build and be around 26 to 30.

I found some stands to replace the huge eFX stand that, came with the eFX Vader. They're very very stable & solid. I got it from budk.com

Pardon the very crappy cropped iPad photo... But I'm too lazy to get up & take real shot with a real camera. The height it provides for the helmet is just about right. & most importantly, for me at least, is they don't hog up space & yet are very stable.

I really do like the plumbing wall hanging ideas you guys have too.
