I actually had vacation days left over from last year so I decided to do something "productive" with 'em. I know there's probably a million easier ways to make this thing but I had MDF....

Not only is this monster big but it's way HEAVY...20 lbs, baby. It's provides a nice workout while you're clobbering Nazi War-Apes.

WIP pics are on the blog...

NICE....

Any pics from the process.? I'd love to see it in rough form... Very cool... I dare say nicer than the commercial one...

Funny you should ask....

Check the blog (address in my sig) for a complete blow-by-blow.

Fantastic craftsmanship... Your blog was most impressive :eek I've always liked MDF and the possibilities it offers.

Steve :thumbsup

Where's the jaw drop smilie when you need it....

Absolute top draw work..

I was stumped when you said it was made out of mdf and figured there had to be a lot of filler involved.
Nope., all mdf, as your excellent blog proves.

Once again amazing work.... :confused :thumbsup :confused

Damn. That looks great. I cracked up when I saw the pic of the padded opening with "Anyone for a game of "Demon Proctologist" or "Alien Drug Mule"?" posted below it. :lol

Holy crap. I think he means to open the locks and bring down the Ogdru Jahad with that thing. :confused

Don't do it man... :cry

Awesome work.....might be a dumb question though, but can the fingers open?
[/b]

Sadly, no.

I think the fingers would have to made out of some sort of rubber seeing how much they have to curl in to make a fist. Then you'd have to make some sort of cable controlled "skeleton" to manipulate them.

But I DID consider it.

Fortunately, I had no access to liquid rubber....just MDF.

BTW all the MDF that I used in this piece was found in the "cull bin" at Home Depot for a total cost of $1.53. :D

Nice.

A steal, given the use you've put it to.
