This is about to be a redesign/rework project from a model I designed a while back. Fortunately, it's all fraction of an inch stuff (my worst error is 1/4") but it may still interest some people. The part that may interest more relates to manual photogrammetry techniques, which I'll be approaching using Fusion. I've seen very little on that topic and there are a lot of useful tricks to align and orient references, trig, geometry, and assorted others. It goes hand in hand with a related project modelling the Apollo RHC (aka joystick).
Anyways, here's the starting point. Printed in resin, painted using grey enamel, wet sanded smooth, and then rubbed with 0000 steel wool for a bit of patina. 2mm steel rods cut to length as part of the attachment to the flex boot, and I never got around to the roll pins... at least that's a really easy fix. My original model:
The desired endpoint will be closer to this, and yes I'm going to do the display pieces as well.
