Heiland Vader conversions

So I have two Heiland flashes to convert into Vader ANH and ESB. The only other parts I have for them are two Parks MPP clamps. (Just waiting on my order from Roy). It seems when I use the clamps with the inner lining I cannot get the clamp lever screwed down in the right direction (for the ESB i know this doesn't matter since the lever is removed). I am curious if those that have done this conversion don't use the clamp lining or if they do are there any modifications they have made to make everything fit properly.

Thanks!

Fixed it... I flipped the clamp body and it seemed to tighten down perfectly. Slightly odd, but not complaining! Photos to follow

The first one has a damn near perfect finish on it, the second one is good.. but needs a rubdown of adhesive remover. AS soon as Roys shipment comes in, I will have more to show.

So question... I am finishing up my first Heiland which is becoming a Vader ESB... I am slightly annoyed with the grips as they bend upward over the end cap of the Heiland. Has anyone done anything alleviate that? I am thinking about shaving off some of the end of the tracks to sit them flush. What has anyone las done?

Your suggestion is what Master Replicas did with the T-tracks on at least their bladed versions ... I for one was contemplating using an adhesive tape which might just elivate the whole T-track enough (?) ... just attached until it meets the endcap. Lichtbringer mentioned 3M Tartan double sided tape which even comes in black. Or you could do a bit of both ... use that 3M tape and sand a little of towards the endcap :)

In above picture the screws were added lateron during or after filming ROTJ. Otherwise it is as JaxAndTheMoon mentioned how it was done on the real prop :wacko

SO i am looking at the endocarp (I have one of the fatter smooth endocarps) and it LOOKS like it could be a accurate endcap (with the threads on the outside) with a cover over them... has anyone tried to remove the outer cover? Or am I better off hunting for the proper endcap?

I realise that this is an old thread but I think it's still worth posting these pics to show that this particular endcap can have the band removed. I heven't seen many recent discussions around that would benefit us budget Vader saber makers. I drilled out the original 1/4" thread and added a larger threaded nut inside to simulate the 3/8" thread that the MPP Microflashes had. Looks OK - just need to paint it.
