Heath Ledger 1944 Dime getting it gold

Hi anyone done this , tried painting but as it is so small it kills the detail of the coin.
besides gold plating anyone done this with better results.

Have you tried painting it then doing a slight wheathering job to pull out the details?

Will have another go, you cannot really see the date that well anyway because its so small...
.....well at my age the eyes are going Lol.....
