Heart of an Empire - whatever happened to it??

I have one of the copies from Australia. It plays fine on my laptop, but it won't play on my blu-ray player.

That's strange. The trailer looks like this is good enough to have gotten a limited release ( wayyyy better than Fanboys). I'm going to order one - thanks for sleuthing MacMantis

I've seen it, DVD's exist. I think there were legal issues with selling/releasing it so I have no idea how you'd get a copy.

We had a charity screening of it in Orlando a couple years ago, and it was screened in other cities, too. But it hasn't been sold as a DVD in the states. I never heard of any legal issues with it, though.

The screenings were VERY limited. I can only think of maybe 4 cities across the US. After that it fell off the radar completely it seemed.

How odd!

I saw a screening of it, and it seemed decent enough. I don't know what kind of market documentaries have generally, but with Star Wars fans what they are I can't see any reason not to release it unless there is some sort of legal snafu.

I hadn't thought of it in a few years, but I hope it gets sorted out!

That stinks. I'd love to know what's up with it... especially because I think I might be in it (you can see me for 1/3 of a second in the trailer right at 0:33 as they pan Jim [TK] and Chirs [Fett]).

Why would someone block it legally?

Yeah, I always wondered too. I met the guys at DragonCon a few years back when they did a promo for it, and the company I work for did a lot of printing for the posters for it. I too would like to know whats up?

I'd love to have a copy of it, especially since I'm in it, albeit breifly. I got to see a screening a few years ago at Stellarcon. Wish I could show it to my family, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I'm still wondering what happened to the documentary from the Rose Parade.

That's finished, and I was once told that if it didn't become available before they'd try to play it at CV. We'll see!

I just bought a copy of HOAE on ebay, from Australia. I hope it plays on my computer! I've seen it, though, so it's more for a collectible purpose.
