I see some of the same mistakes on the spacing of the upper vs lower jaws on this one as on the sideshow one. From the lower front edge of the dome, those teeth should start alot closer to that dome. The upper "lip" is being posed in the down-unretracted position, yet the upper teeth would be mostly covered up by the lip in that position...........and yet they begin the teeth below that lip. When the upper lip is retracted, it's supposed to be practically touching the dome edge.
That's my big pet peeve with both sculpts. Also, I don't like the spots on the tubing that extends behind the back of the lower jaw. Totally inaccurate. I do, on the other hand, Love love love the frosty dome appearance. That is movie accuracy at it's best.
Very cool but I wish the hadn't put the tops of the arms in. Makes it look like he's stuck in the table/shelf instead of a character bust display.
I've always wanted to pick up an 1:1 Alien bust but the perfect one still hasn't been made for my tastes just yet.
Don't like the skinny neck / no shoulder tubes look on the Sideshow version.
The DVD set is nice looking but still looks goofy with the skinny neck. I think it cool how they put the base display on sideways knowing how it most likely be displayed.
I really wish they had finished it in the style of the ALIENS 1:1 bust Sideshow did. Creates a much better look with the shoulder tubes and no arms. The back spikes are pretty spectacular too.
In the end, the half scale Giger Autograph Bust is my favorite display so far but it is only 1:2 scale. A really classy museum style set-up.
I know it states it is 1:1 scale but from a size perspective, is the new HCG the same size as the SS Aliens one. I think I recall reading that the SS Aliens was not quite 1:1. Can anyone confirm?
