Hawkeye (Avengers) Coustume 2012

I am attempting to put together a Hawkeye costume as part of a Halloween ensemble.

View attachment 119924I chose to go in a more tactical iteration of the costume, I thought the movie one was a bit too "shiny" for me.

I am starting with the quiver, I bought some ac/heating duct and I marked out the pattern with a sharpie and cut away with a dremel and about 5 cutting discs. After that I spent quite some time removing all the metal shards off the piece with a grinding bit. I cut out some accent pieces out of cardboard, thin plastic would have worked better though but this is my first build. I hot glued the cardboard on and gave it a healthy base coat of flat black as the primer and gun metal as primary. I have to accent it a bit more with the purple screen pieces found on the side. For that I am using window screen patch kits that I will cut to shape, paint and attach.

I still have to do the arrows and filler pieces but that won't get done until Sunday the earliest.

Pictures of my version of the vest will be up by Saturday.

Any positive comments or tips will be appreciated. Thank you

This looks quite ambitious. I look forward to seeing your take on the costume, especially because I heard a lot of fans thought the opposite: movie version was too tactical, next to the more classic looks of Cap, Thor, and Iron Man. Good luck!

i will be making hawkeye shield patches if you're interested. i'll hopefully have a prototype tomorrow or saturday to show.

Interested in seeing that. Will you post it here or in a different thread?

The actual sizing is a bit off but kinda had to use the dimensions used to make it a but more functional.

Just need some trim to go around the purple to clean it up a bit then that's done. Luckily the vest has side buckle clips, I will get some nylon webbing and extra clips and attempt to attach the quiver to the vest.

Looking awesome man! Loving the feel of the quiver. Was it round like that or was it more of an oval shape (looking at it birds eye view...or rather, Hawk's eye view ;) )

It was originally round but once I cut out the excess it was easily shapable to the oval. Think I'm going to do another one and actually take my time and do it a bit more screen accurate. Thanks
