I was opening mine up yesterday, the emitter head needed a repaint, and was surprised to see how easy it is to disassemble the whole piece.
The grips come off, then you can unscrew the little metal plate the sits above the grips, which leaves the whole electronics assembly right before you. The speaker is actually on the underside of the metal plate, and the emitter tip is held in by a 4 screws and a plastic piece that fits into the phaser.
It would be neat to upgrade the LED/speaker, but I don't know how that would work with having enough power for the phaser.
any thoughts?
