Have any of you modded one of the MR First Contact Phasers?

I was opening mine up yesterday, the emitter head needed a repaint, and was surprised to see how easy it is to disassemble the whole piece.

The grips come off, then you can unscrew the little metal plate the sits above the grips, which leaves the whole electronics assembly right before you. The speaker is actually on the underside of the metal plate, and the emitter tip is held in by a 4 screws and a plastic piece that fits into the phaser.

It would be neat to upgrade the LED/speaker, but I don't know how that would work with having enough power for the phaser.

any thoughts?

I can post some pics later tonight, I had to take the Master Replicas Phaser apart for painting, it's pretty neat once you open it up, and not too hard to put back together, just don't yank the wires too hard.

Jumping in with the fellow San Antonio collectors it seems. I'd love to see some photos of the inside, I don't feel like taking mine apart.
