Hasbro X-Wing Toy Conversion

Progress has been a little slow due to working on other projects but here is a quick update: I glued the new wing panels and supports on and did a quick test fit with the rebuilt cannons. I also started adding some more styrene details to the fuselage halves.

I haven’t posted in any updates in awhile. This project has been on the back burner due to work, life and other things in the works. But I have started working on it again a little bit. I added some more detail to the cockpit seat and controls and started painting it. I also primed the S-Foils (wings) and am pleased with how they look. I used Tamiya Fine Surface Primer and Archive-X acrylics.

No worries; I just obtained one of my own, although the wings, cannons and canopy are missing (will be fabricating them myself).

Going to see how much detail I can get into it this time around! Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours! :D

I look forward to seeing yours as well! I will be priming more parts this week.

Lots of paint work done to the Hasbro X-Wing. All paints are Archive-X.

More blast marks, streaks and weathering work done. This will get toned down some with a mist coat.

I reached a point where I had to stop and put away the airbrush or I was just going to keep tinkering until I screwed up, ha! I started on assembly and glued the S-Foils in place. This was much easier to do from the inside due to how they attach. However, it really made it hard to attach the lower half of the fuselage. That was a bit of a battle, caused some scratches and a wing panel popped loose, but it was an easy fix. I will have some paint touch-ups to do, but it’s finally starting to look like an X-Wing!

I really need to work on my photography and lighting setup, I am still pretty new at this. Here are some finished shots of the completed Hasbro X-Wing conversion. I really learned a lot on this and am pleased with the results. Now I just need to decide what to tackle next.

Nice work, looks great !

When I did mine, I had NO IDEA what I was doing. I started with balsa wood and evolved along the way to styrene plastics and scratch building. There are so many talented people on this site, you can't help but learn from them !

Welcome to the club !

Great work....!!!!....They come up really good, once you get the wings open....;).

They are 1/18 scale so the biggest X Wing that you can buy and mod.

EDIT: Ok I think I got my wires crossed and what I modded and what you modded are two different 'Toys'....:rolleyes:
