Hasbro Hero Millennium Falcon Modification

Ok, so I've been working on the Bandai X-Wing for a while there & having a lot of fun with it

So I've returned to the Big Falcon with a fresh pair of eyes and I've decided to go back a couple of steps & redo a couple of things:

This jawbox bit sticks out too much at the turret, so I reduced the height of it a bit:

I think it improves the look of it:

I'm gonna add some details back into the rear deck tonight

Thanks for looking

Hi John, amazing job shaving off those parts from the engine deck! Are you sanding it as well -- is the plastic receptive to sanding?

I knew you would just have to do the jawbox, these little things gnaw away don't they.
So much better and now that means I "have" to do it seeing as I was the one that was protesting about it :)
Does it change the angle of the box at the front, pushing them open?

Just picked up 2 copies of issue one of the DeAgostini Build your own Millennium Falcon

IMG_1498.jpg

It has parts that could be useful

I bought 2 copies to get 2 Quad guns

Other parts are obviously scaled too much as the DeAgostini Falcon builds up to 32"

The cockpit back wall,....although waaaayyyy to big could be cut down to fit??

£2.99 for the first issue,.....too good an opportunity not to buy,....even for the magazine

Looking very very tasty J. Nice mods there. Any news on the 8 rib vents?

Yep samster I've cast 4,....I only made 1 mould, so I cast 1 at a time,.....I'll have them ready really soon

Thanks very much mate, Yeah crackerjazz,....I'm using really fine sanding paper & it seems to work OK

It was annoying me a bit spacebob.......I sliced the jawbox about 3/4 towards the front so that I didn't totally remove it,....that allowed it to move down a shade,....the plastic is playable enough for it not to effect the jaws at the front

About 100 issues @ £8.99 a week works out as a pretty expensive Falcon

Someone on RPF had some good shots comparing the pieces of the magazine Falcon to the MR. Although it's more detailed than the new Hasbro it's not nearly as detailed as the MR. I think it's a great option for those who can't afford a MR. It looks to be a fine piece and paying so little at a time you won't notice the cost, kind of.

For me I would rather save it toward a MR but those darn things are going for 4k and more.

If I could afford it and a MR I would get it, also they would need to offer it in the U.S. Of course currently I can afford neither.

Anyone who thinks the Magazine/Model Falcon is not worth having might want to watch the video below. It had the interior as well.

I just found this. I am so getting this.

I thought I read somewhere this was going to be available in the US ??????????????????????

Just watched the video four more times

Description

For the first time, the ship includes all the interior parts – engines, cargo bay, missiles, cockpit interior, secret compartments and mechanics. No model of the Falcon has ever included all these elements before, making the model a truly unique concept. Using simple and proven construction techniques, the Falcon is simple enough for new modellers to build. However, expert modellers can customise the ship with removable parts and electronic lights.

Ok,.....I've decided to remove all the very few telltale 5 foot areas of the Big Falcon,.....so I'm removing some of the details at the thruster flaps area at the rear of the deck...while I'm at it I'm replacing some of the generic block shapes with similar sized tank greeblies

John, great minds, have already removed the squares on the rear deck...but see you have gone a step further and removed the actuator rods for the engine flaps ( or whatever they are ). Will be watching this with interest.

Also thanks for the news on the 8 ribs, just drop me a PM when ready dude.

Happy New Year.
