Splurge Gun from Bugsy Malone, here's a film cap for those who may need a memory jog.

"propmasters" are the only one's I've seen with a good pic of screen used hero prop.

Oh man, that takes me back! I played Knuckles in our high school performance of this in '94 I think. I never got to handle the splurge guns but I did get to fire the ill-fated splurge cannon! Good times...

I remember the slurge guns being a huge problem for the show. They started trying to use painted waterpistols and wound up constructing something from scratch that looked a little like a tommy gun but with a can of shaving cream as the front grip. Not ideal either but it worked for the show.

Good luck with this, I'm excited to see how it goes.

You have hit upon the favourite piece in my collection, my coffin will be custom shaped to fit it in with me!

This was the first film I ever saw, aged just 6 years old, and I have the utmost affection for it right to this day. This came direct from Pinewood Studios in about 1986. I actually originally had two, the hero one which still resides in the collection and a lightweight stunt version. I sold the stunt version a couple years after obtaining them and have never seen it again, I would love it back.

I know it's a necro post, but Bugsy Malone is also a film close to my heart.

I made one for the recent Secret Cinema showing of Bugsy Malone. I'm a total novice when it comes to props, so it's very crude by RPF standards. Oddly enough I think the main reference shot I had was the one Propmasters had for sale.

It was alright for something knocked up over a weekend.

I'd love to get my hands on a more accurate one. Propmasters, if you want to part with yours I'd gladly take it off your hands ... or if ever produce copies sign me up.

As I said it will be the last to ever leave my collection, and even then my son will have first dibs on it!

Hi all,Apologies for the post resurrection1I'm looking to make a splurge gun replica- does anyone have any good production stills of the gun or photos of remaining props available? Unfortunately the Prop Masters page no longer seems to have any images of theirs, and their appear to be limited pictures from the filming.I'd appreciate any help possible. Many thanksMike
