Has anyone compared POTF Y-Wing with Studio scale?

I am wondering what it would take to convert one of these to a reasonable facsimile of a studio scale. The "mass" seems to be there but the overall toy is 8 - 9 inches shorter than the SS. This is obviously in the engines which (guessing here) seem to be in the 1/35 range, but the cockpit appears to be in the 1/18th range (holds a 1/18th figure) and the R2 unit is about 1/18th as well. Anyone have a photo of them (MR and POTF) side by side they could post?

Thanks

I think a repaint could "shine" it up a little, but the Hasbro Y, is dimensionally challenged, its key parts, cockpit/engines are all out TBH, and the profile on the cockpit alone, is way off bud!

It would be way more satisfying to scratchbuild one, expensive and time consuming if you want full on studio accuracy (theres some members here that will attest to that huh Jamie lol) but a close call replica similar to what Bill George built could be achieved cutting costs on donors, and time hunting them down!

You'd be better off buying a Lego ultimate collectors edition Y-wing than trying to fix the Hasbro mess.

Lee I'm not in the mood to hear "time consuming" jokes today! :lol

True Jamie, at least the Lego is closer to studio size, probably more accurate too.......
Bro ill say nay more on the subject of time, other than man its passing me by real fast :lol

Hey if you just want to practice your airbrush and weathering skills By all means work on tha POTF y-wing... But it'll never be "right"... But probably a bit of fun none the less...

I'd say go for it if for no other reason then to practice :thumbsup
